Merida Brass Monkey 1 on Sunday 25 Nov: Entry closing soon

by Jane Lucas, 15 Nov 12.

The Winter enduro season is upon us and Round 1 of this year’s Merida Brass Monkeys Series - THE WINTER WARMER is on Sunday 25 November at Caesar’s Camp, Aldershot, Hants. The nearest postcode is GU11 1PZ, but when you get close to the venue it will be signed.

With Gorrick and the Army involved, supported by Merida, you can expect an outstanding course carefully sorted for Enduro racing. You can opt for 4 hours or 2 hours riding in age related categories over 7-8 mile laps. There’s a 1 hour Fun event as well if you want to see if enduro riding is for you. It's a Series so all rounds will count and there will be a Podium presentation of trophies on the day at 3pm as well as the Series presentations at the last round.

To ease any congestion at these massively popular events, this year there will be a long start loop for the 2 hour before joining the course.

Start times have been changed too:

4 hour race starts 10am

1 hour fun race starts 10.10am

2 hour race starts 12pm

Registration opens at 8.30am and the venue will have the very best course features that we know you expect from us, coupled with a friendly experienced team, heated HQ marquee, computerised chip race timing, results system with position and time, commentary, Joolze our photographer, trade stands, toilets, paramedic medical cover and ambulance, radio linked mobile and static marshals and plenty of parking. Merida will be bringing their mega truck with their latest carbon goodies on display, Quaver will be hitting the spot with hot food and refreshments, Mule Bar will fuel you from the start with a free bar for each entrant and For Goodness Shakes will power you back up at the finish with a complimentary shake. There are plenty of vantage points for safe spectating too, so you can bring along your family and friends on the day.

Pre-entry is now open and will close very soon. Remember, there is no entry on the day.
